Work Projects Report 2014:

Together here's what we were able to do:
We worked on 5 different homes for senior citizens and/or shut-ins -we
cleaned, painted, mulched, and weeded -we heard their stories, we laughed, and we cried -perhaps most importantly, we let them know they are not forgotten.
We served at Our Community Farm, building, farming, and loving on those who are on the road to recovery.
We loved on 5 local nursing homes, carrying with us their precious stories and seeing the world differently through their eyes.
We volunteered in 6 different schools, appreciating those who work so hard
to teach us so much.
We hosted 4 back-yard Vacation Bible School (VBS) sites each day ministering directly to kids in apartment buildings and trailer parks. We used, music, crafts, games, and a lesson each day to teach children about the love of Jesus. Our students were forever changed, and the slip n slide memories will live on forever.
We delivered 123 care packages to Cargill turkey farm employees, showing them they are loved and appreciated (with their names on the note that was translated into their native language!).
We served meals at the Salvation Army, volunteered at a local food bank, and worked at 2 different clothes closets and thrift stores.
We collected over 10,000 diapers for the Harrisonburg Pregnancy Center and Rise Church.
We concluded our week with a “Field Day” and concert event at Eastern Mennonite School inviting middle school and high school students from all over the community.
Organizations served included: Salvation Army, Mercy House, Explore More Children's Museum, White Birch Retirement Community, Our Community Farm, Blue Ridge Christian School, First Step, Hope Distributed Food Bank, Avante, Harrisonburg Health and Rehab, Harrisonburg High School, Harrisonburg Pregnancy Center, Equipping the Saints, Spotswood Elementary, Skyline Middle School, Eastern Mennonite School, Grace House, Camp Still Meadow, Heatherview Farms, Sunset Ridge Home. VBS sites: Meriwether Hills, Mosby Heights Apartments, Harris Gardens Apartments, Ridgeway Mennonite Church.

Praise GOD for an incredible Renew Camp last week. Thank you ALL for your joy-filled participation, your hard work, your great attitudes, your flexibility, your quick forgiveness, your creative and energetic ideas! I think we all would agree that despite some rain, sickness and other challenges it was truly a life changing week. What an amazing opportunity to see such humble service and love for Jesus!
You guys blew us all away; you truly were an incredible blessing to all the volunteers. You were hard-working, fun to be around, and for the most part – serious about growing in your faith. Working, watching and just being with you was such an inspiration to me. Just imagine what God has in store for you?
Thank you for being a part of this event by sending your students. You've got great kids! Your support and faith in the planning team helped make this possible. As hoped, we have been blessed to truly see renewal in our churches, ourselves and our community.
God has and is moving powerfully among us,as He often does, through His people.
